Buria

This beautiful and fascinating town is situated at a distance of 8 kilometres from the Yamunanagar Railway Station and is at a distance of 3 kilometres from town of Jagadhri. This place is famous for a grand architectural building named Rang Mahal or the Fort of Buria. The folklore believes that there is some historical connection between Buria and one of the Navrathnas of Akbar, named Birbal, who was supposedly born here. However, there is also a story of the Rang Mahal being built by Humayun, who had come to the forests of the Shivalik mountain range for the purpose of hunting.

The Rang Mahal was built with the purpose of being a place for pleasure and leisurely activities and is a three storied architecture. The newly restructured temple of Shree Pataleshvar Mahadev in the vicinity of Buria, in a place named Dayalgarh attracts a lot of tourists. There is beautiful garden in this place and many age old ashrams are also found here, which were used by some saints in the erstwhile era.

This is a beautiful village at a distance of 11 kilometers on the west of Yamunanagar. This is a quiet and peaceful village and one can spend some time here amidst the serenity of nature and lush greenery that engulfs this place. This place marks the border of the district of Yamunanagar with the district of Saharanpur. The Darazpur Rail Way Station, Jagadhri Workshop Rail Way Station and the Saharanpur Rail Way Station are the closest railway stations to this place. The major railway station is the Saharanpur Rail Way Station, which is at a distance of 38 kilometers from this village.

Sadhaura near Yamunanagar


Sadhaura

This is one of the historical places which is close to Yamunanagar and is situated at a distance of 36 kilometers from the city. The name of this place as evolved from its earlier name “Sadhu- Raha”, which literary means “The way of Saints”. Surrounded by the Shivalik mountain range on the north, this place has a lot of religious places like the Peer Budhu Shah Gurudwara, Adi-Badri, Roza Peer etc. Even the famous sarovar of Kapal Mochan is close to this place and is at a distance of 12 kilometers, which is revered by Sikhs and Hindus alike as saints and religious leaders of both these religions had stayed in this sarovar. This town of Sadhaura has the blessing of the Muslim saint Roza Peer and it is believed that this place can never be submerged in water due to his blessings.

Chaneti

Another important village a distance of 8 kilometers from Yamunanagar and 3 kilometers from Jagadhri, is famous for the Buddhist Stupa built by the Great King Ahoka. This Stupa is round in shape and has a height of 8 meters and is made of bricks spread over an area of 100 square meters. According to the tales of a Yuan Chwang a Chinese pilgrim, this place is revered greatly by the Buddhist from all around the world. The hemispherical look of this Stupa speaks volumes of the architectural greatness as the concentric layers have calculated space between the underlying layers. A new pathway was built during the Kushna Period, so that one can walk around the Stupa.

Panjtirthi

This is another religious place situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Yamunanagar, and is located on the road, which progresses from Topra Kalan to Harnol. This place is often thronged by large number of devotees as there is a Shiv Temple and a Gurudwara here.
